Easy and quick way to create a search engine in your address bar

If you remember a topic in a certain website and would like to find it quickly, try this little trick.

In the Chrome address bar (or Omnibox as Google calls it)

  1. At the top right click the three dots More and then settings
  2. Under "Search engine," click manage search engines
  3. Select the triangle where it says "Other search engines."
  4. Select add "on same line as "Other search engines."
  5. Name the search engine - example Facebook
  6. Enter in a keyword - For Facebook - maybe just Face
  7. Under where it has URL make sure to do the following
    1. Enter in the website address with this after it (search?q=%s)
      1. Example - https://www.facebook.com/search?q=%s
  8. Select add
  9. When in your Omnibox / address bar type in your keyword and then Tab you can now search the site
Embedded below is a GIF followed by a 1 minute 24 second YouTube tutorial I created.

Happy searching,
